WordPress and Twitter: Reach People by Connecting Your Streams

In nature, a stream can link an alpine lake to an ocean, a river to a pond, or just about any combination you can think up.

So it is with ReachBy Streams. Of course, ReachBy is an easy way to start your own blog. But what if you already have a blog? If that's the case, then using a ReachBy Stream to connect the 'pools' of content in your social media and blog channels is just one way to use ReachBy, but it's a powerful one. It can help to fill in your content matrix and weave greater connectivity.

Quickly Capture and Share Ideas

You might think "I already have a Wordpress blog and Twitter account. I don't need a ReachBy Stream to document and share ideas."

You'd have a point, but there might be times you want to post something longer than 140 characters (so Twitter won't work), but don't have the time or desire to go through the long process of creating a blog post (so Wordpress won't work). Really, you want to jot down some thoughts or opinions and move on. Maybe come back to it later, or just see what kind of discussion ensues.

ReachBy Streams allow you to do that. Post a message as long or as short as you like (with the same ease as writing an email), blast it out to your social media accounts (each post has social media icons for fast sharing), and rock on.

Greater Visibility

Just the other day, I found this really fascinating article from MITnews on encouraging big ideas. I wanted to write about it, but didn't have time. After quickly posting it to my Stream, I later wrote a more extended post concerning my thoughts on the subject, and updated my Stream with a comment that shared a link to the post.

If you already have a blog, then you understand the importance of growing your web visibility to attract readers. Having discussions on ReachBy and linking out to your blog can help build your web visibility and an audience. Plus, it provides a way to build backlinks to your blog.

In this way, ReachBy Stream can increase your audience exposure and help to improve your search rankings.

Go off Topic

Let's say you blog about SuperGadgets on your famous blog, SuperGadgets for Geeks. Your readers there expect a certain type of content, so you may not want to post something off topic, say on celebrity gossip.

A ReachBy Stream lets you stream your thoughts as you like, without having to worry about disrupting the content of your blog. If you have a silly music blog, but want to have a serious political discussion, you can do that on ReachBy. If you have a serious blog on tax law, but wants to share some funny pics of your cat doing chin-ups, you can also do that on ReachBy.

ReachBy allows you to expose different sides of your thinking to your readers.

Have Fun

All in all, ReachBy is very simple and flexible to use. There are many ways that an experienced blogger can take advantage of the platform. I hope this helps to give you a few ideas.

Let us know your thoughts. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing how you use ReachBy.

Best,
Doug
